1) Move the stabilizer until the limit switch [1] does not touch the cam.
2) Adjust the limit switch arm [3].
CAUTION: DO NOT MOVE THE SWITCH ARM [3] BEYOND ITS RANGE OF MOTION.
IT CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE LIMIT SWITCH [1].
3) Move the stabilizer by hand until the limit switch [1] clicks.
4) Make sure the "B" dimension is the same as follows:
a) With the stabilizer autopilot and electric actuator nose down (flaps not up), make
sure the switch S145 "B" dimension at 0.05 units of trim is 45.48 ±0.05 in.
(1155.2 ±1.3 mm).

b) With the stabilizer electric actuator nose down (flaps up), make sure the switch
S844 "B" dimension at 4.30 units of trim is 39.46 ±0.05 in. (1002.3 ±1.3 mm).

S844 "B" dimension at 3.95 units of trim is 39.96 ±0.05 in. (1015.0 ±1.3 mm).

d) With the stabilizer autopilot and electric actuator nose up, make sure the switch
S144 "B" dimension at 14.50 units of trim is 24.80 ±0.05 in. (629.9 ±1.3 mm).
(f) Tighten the lockscrews [4].
(g) Tignten the locknut [6] 20 in-lb (2 Nm) to 25 in-lb (3 Nm).
(h) Install the lockwire, G01505 on the lockscrews [4], Lockwires Installation,
TASK 20-10-44-400-801.

(2) Adjust Type 1 style stabilizer trim limit switch, Figure 501 (Sheet 5):
(a) Remove the lockwire from the lockscrew [4].
(b) Loosen the locknut [6].
(c) Loosen the lockscrew [4].
(d) Using a slot-head screwdriver, turn the lockscrew [4] worm gear until the switch is in the
desired position.
(e) If you can not turn the worm gear with 6 in-lb (0.7 Nm) of torque, then do these steps:
1) Move the stabilizer until the limit switch [1] does not touch the cam.
2) Adjust the limit switch arm [3].
3) Move the stabilizer by hand until the limit switch [1] clicks.
4) Make sure the "B" dimension is the same as follows:
a) With the stabilizer autopilot and electric actuator nose down (flaps not up), make
sure the switch S145 "B" dimension at 0.05 units of trim is 45.48 ±0.05 in.

(3) Make sure the limit switch arm [3] overtravel is sufficient:
(a) With the stabilizer leading edge in the full down position (airplane nose up), make sure the
switch S144 can be rotated away from the cam surface by a minimum of 0.05 in. (1.27 mm)
with finger pressure only.
(b) With the stabilizer leading edge in the full up position (airplane nose down), make sure the
switches S145 and S844 can be rotated away from the cam surface by a minimum of 0.05 in.
(1.27 mm) with finger pressure only.
