STABILIZER TRIM LIMIT SWITCHES - ADJUSTMENT/TEST
1. General
A. This procedure has these tasks:
(1) An adjustment of the stabilizer trim limit switches
(2) A test of the stabilizer trim limit switches.
B. The stabilizer trim limit switch is referred to as the "limit switch" in this procedure.
C. There are three limit switches (S144, S145, and S844) and two stabilizer takeoff warning switches
(S132 and S546) on the brackets along the stabilizer jackscrew.
D. This procedure is applicable for all three limit switches.

(2) Use the bar, SPL-1677 to set the applicable "B" dimensions as follows:
(a) With the stabilizer autopilot and electric actuator nose down (flaps not up), make sure the
switch S145 "B" dimension at 0.05 units of trim is 45.48 ±0.05 in. (1155.2 ±1.3 mm).

(b) With the stabilizer electric actuator nose down (flaps up), make sure the switch S844 "B"
dimension at 4.30 units of trim is 39.46 ±0.05 in. (1002.3 ±1.3 mm).

(c) With the stabilizer electric actuator nose down (flaps up), make sure the switch S844 "B"
dimension at 3.95 units of trim is 39.96 ±0.05 in. (1015.0 ±1.3 mm).

(d) With the stabilizer autopilot and electric actuator nose up, make sure the switch S144 "B"
dimension at 14.50 units of trim is 24.80 ±0.05 in. (629.9 ±1.3 mm).
G. Stabilizer Trim Limit Switches Adjustment
SUBTASK 27-41-94-820-002
(1) Adjusting the Type 2 style stabilizer trim limit switch, Figure 501 (Sheet 4):
(a) Remove the lockwire from the lockscrews [4].
(b) Loosen the locknut [6].
(c) Loosen the two lockscrews [4].
(d) Use a 3/32 inch (2.4 millimeters) HEX torque wrench ( 30 in-lbs), COM-1587 to turn the worm
gear with no more than 6 in-lb (0.7 Nm) until the limit switch [1] starts to operate (when you
hear a click).
(e) If you can not turn the worm gear with 6 in-lb (0.7 Nm) of torque, then do these steps:
