E. Prepare for the Removal
SUBTASK 27-51-15-860-003
(1) Extend the trailing edge flaps to the 40-unit position. To extend them, do this task: Extend the
Trailing Edge Flaps, TASK 27-51-00-860-803.
SUBTASK 27-51-15-480-001
WARNING: MAKE SURE THE DOWNLOCK PINS ARE INSTALLED ON ALL THE LANDING GEAR.
WITHOUT THE DOWNLOCK PINS, THE LANDING GEAR CAN RETRACT AND CAUSE
INJURIES TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
(2) If the downlock pins are not installed in the nose and main landing gear, do this task: Landing
Gear Downlock Pins Installation, TASK 32-00-01-480-801.

(6) Do this task: Inboard Flap Inboard Transmission Removal, TASK 27-51-31-000-802.
F. Inboard Flap Inboard Track Removal
NOTE: Make sure you support the flap track assemblies [41] while you disconnect it.
SUBTASK 27-51-15-480-005
(1) If you will use the adapter, SPL-1733, install it on the flap track assemblies [41]:
(a) Install the adapter, SPL-1733 on the flap track assemblies [41] approximately 20 inches (50
cm) aft of the track forward attach fitting.
(b) Put a low profile hydraulic jack, COM-1568 below the adapter, SPL-1733 to support the flap
track assemblies [41].

(2) Disconnect the link assembly [45] from the structure:
(a) Remove the nut [43], washer [42] and bolt [46] from the bolt [49].
(b) Remove the nut [48] and washer [47] from the bolt [49].
(c) Remove the bolt [49] that attaches the link assembly [45] to the structure.

(3) Disconnect the forward end of the flap track assemblies [41]:
(a) Remove the nut [56], washer [55] and bolt [52] that attach the flap track assemblies [41] to
the forward attach assembly [50].
(b) Remove the nut [58], washer [54] and bolt [51] that attach the flap track assemblies [41] to
the forward attach assembly [50].

(4) If you will install a new flap track assemblies [41], remove the transmission attach fitting [53] and
the link assembly [45] from the flap track assemblies [41]:
(a) Remove the bolts [60], bolt [64], washers [61] and nuts [62] that attach the transmission
attach fitting [53] to the flap track assemblies [41].
(b) Disconnect the link assembly [45] from the flap track assemblies [41]:
1) Remove the nut [67], washer [65] and bolt [68] from the bolt [72].
2) Remove the nut [71], washer [70] and washer [69] from the bolt [72].
3) Remove the bolt [72] that attaches the link assembly [45] to the flap track
assemblies [41].
