STABILIZER TRIM MOTOR - ADJUSTMENT/TEST
1. General
A. This procedure has one task. The task is the test of the stabilizer trim motor, M1659.

(3) Make sure the main cutout switch, S272, on the P8 panel, is in the NORMAL position.

(4) Make sure the STAB TRIM switch on the stab trim and cabin door panel, P8-47 is in the NORMAL
position.
D. Procedure

(1) Do the test of the stabilizer trim motor:
(a) Set the flaps to any position from 1-40 units.
1) Push and hold the stabilizer trim control switches on the captain’s control wheel to the
NOSE DOWN position.
a) Make sure the stabilizer leading edge moves up.
b) Release the stabilizer trim control switches.

2) Push and hold the stabilizer trim control switches on the captain’s control wheel to the
NOSE UP position.
a) Make sure the stabilizer leading edge moves down.
b) Release the stabilizer trim control switches.
3) Push and hold the stabilizer trim control switches on the first officer’s control wheel to
the NOSE DOWN position.
a) Make sure the stabilizer leading edge moves up.
b) Release the stabilizer trim control switches.
4) Push and hold the stabilizer trim control switches on the first officer’s control wheel to
the NOSE UP position.
a) Make sure the stabilizer leading edge moves down.
b) Release the stabilizer trim control switches.
5) Push the stabilizer trim control switches on the captain’s control wheel to the NOSE UP
position and then to the NOSE DOWN position.
a) Make sure the time for the stabilizer leading edge to move from its lower limit of
travel to the upper limit of travel is between 31-39 seconds.
b) Make sure the operation is smooth and there is no unusual noise.
6) Use the stabilizer trim control switches on the captain’s control wheel to move the
stabilizer many times in the two directions, one after the other for 3 seconds each.
a) Make sure the operation is smooth and there is no unusual noise.
7) Push and hold the stabilizer trim control switches on the captain’s control wheel to the
NOSE UP position until the system comes to the full trim speed.
a) Move the stabilizer trim control switches momentarily to OFF and then to the NOSE
