CAUTION: DO NOT PUT LARGE CONCENTRATIONS OF THE BIOCIDE IN THE FUEL
_______ TANKS. THE LARGE CONCENTRATIONS CAN MAKE SALT PARTICLES THAT CAN CAUSE CORROSION.
(2)
Do these steps to add the biocide to the fuel tanks:
(a)
Connect the metered fuel injection system to the refuel equipment.
NOTE: If calibrated injection equipment is not available,
____ refer to the Corrosion Prevention Manual (CPM 20-62-00) for other approved procedures.
(b)
Set-up the injection equipment to add the correct concentration of biocide (reference Table 601 for concentration levels).
(c)
Begin a refuel operation (AMM 12-11-01/301).
(d)
Add the biocide as you refuel the tanks.
(e)
Make sure to apply the biocide to all fuel tanks.
(f)
Refuel the fuel tanks until full.

To have an effect, let the fuel with the additive Biobor JF stay in the fuel tanks for a minimum of 72 hours.
S 117-084
(4)
To have an effect, let the fuel with the additive Kathon FP1.5 stay in the fuel tanks for a minimum of 24 hours.
NOTE: 24 hours is the time specified by the manufacturer of Kathon
____ to kill most baterial populations of microbial growth. The maximum time necessary to kill all populations of bacterial growth is 72 hours. Ask Kathon for more data on the recommended time to permit biocide to stay in the fuel tanks.

5. Fuel Tanks Contaminated with Red Dye
____________________________________
A. General
(1)
Service criteria and reporting requirements for red dye concentrations can be found in the Boeing service letter 757-SL-28-034, Airplane Use of Fuels Contaminated with Dye.
(2)
Do the procedure that follows if:
(a)
The concentration of red dye is more than 0.28 milligrams per liter as shown by the JT-100s analyzer or equivalent.
