Make sure that the clamp ring and the gasket holes align.
(g)
Push the clamp ring on the gasket until the clamp ring is tightly against the gasket.
(h)
As a unit, remove the clamp ring, the gasket, and the strip that releases, from the tray.
(i)
Put the unit, with the gasket turned up, on a flat surface.
(j)
Remove the strip from the gasket.

(9) If you use the initial gasket, make sure the anticorrosion grease fully fills the mesh of the gasket.
NOTE: If there is not a sufficient quantity of grease, the grease
____ can have holes that collect moisture. If you use too much grease, it can flow out of the lower wing surface.
(a)
If the gasket does not contain the correct quantity of grease, remove the grease with a lintfree cloth that is moist with a solvent.
(b)
Apply a 1/2 to 1 oz. layer of grease equally to each side of the gasket.
NOTE: Make sure the layer is continuous on the gasket.

Examine the molded rubber seal on the access door.
(a)
Examine the molded rubber seal for these signs of deterioration: 1) Cuts 2) Deliminations from the access panel 3) Chafing 4) Flat spots 5) Any condition which will not allow the rubber seal to form
a fuel tight seal.
(b)
If there is a problem with the molded rubber seal, replace the seal (AMM 28-11-00/801) or the access door.
NOTE: You can remove the rubber seal on all high
____ impact-resistant access doors and all new replacement access doors (Fig. 402).
