Procedure
 NOTE: It is not necessary to disassemble the valve for the installation
____ procedure. If the valve is disassembled, refer to AMM 28-11-04/401 to tighten the valve seat-to-base.

 (1)  Drill holes in the valve base at the locations shown in Fig. 401, if it is not drilled.

 (MSDS) AND LOCAL REQUIREMENTS FOR PROPER HANDLING PROCEDURES.

Clean the surface of the lower panel in the tank and the valve base with solvent, Series 93 (AMM 20-30-93/201).

Remove the sealant from the bolt threads with solvent, Series 93 (AMM 20-30-93/201).

For the fuel sump drain valve in the surge tank, make sure the spacer is installed on the bolts.

 (a)  
If the spacer is not installed, put the spacer into its position on the bolts.

 (5)  
Apply the faying surface seal between the valve base and the tank lower panel or spacer (AMM 28-11-00/801).

 (6)  
Put the fuel sump drain valve in its position on the bolts.

 (7)  
Install the seal washer, the washer, and the nut on each bolt (2 locations).

 S 434-048

 (8)  
Tighten the nut to 30-50 pound-inches.
