 1.  General_______
 A.  This section contains instructions for the removal and installation of the access door in the wing surge tank.
 B.  The access doors for the surge tank are installed in the wing lower skin, outboard of the reserve tanks.
 C.  When the surge tank access doors are installed you must align the long nut retainer with the notch in the access door opening. This prevents the incorrect location of the surge tank access doors.
 D.  Make sure that you remove the electrical power from the airplane before the access door is removed. Do not put back the electrical power until the tank is closed and safe.

Remove the electrical power (AMM 24-22-00/201).

 (2)
Hold the clamp ring and remove the mounting bolts (21 locations).

 (3)
Remove the clamp ring and the aluminum gasket from the access door.

 (4)
Put the clamp ring and the aluminum gasket in a flat container.

_______ TO OPEN THE DOOR. DAMAGE TO THE SURFACES THAT SEAL ON THE WING SKIN OR THE ACCESS DOOR CAN CAUSE A LEAK.
 (5)  Push the access door up and remove the access door from the fuel tank.
 NOTE: If the door cannot be easily removed, hit the door lightly
