WING SURGE TANK FLAME ARRESTER - REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

A. This section supplies instructions for the removal and the installation of the surge tank flame arrester.
B. The surge tank flame arrester is found in the fuel vent tube. The fuel vent tube is found in the wingtip dry bay immediately outboard of the surge tank.
C. The access to the flame arrester is through the access panel 556AB or 656AB.

(1)
Remove the access door 556AB or 656AB to get access to the wingtip dry bay.

(2)
Disconnect the bonding jumper and the clamp from the vent tube.
S 034-004
(3)
Loosen the vent tube couplings (2 places).
S 034-012
(4)
Remove the tube and flame arrester.

Discard the O-rings.
S 024-005
(5) Remove the flame arrester from the vent tube.
