 C.  The adapter is installed on the rear spar below the transfer valve actuator found inboard of the inboard engine. The adapter plate is installed to the spar from the inner side of the inboard main fuel tank. The shaft extends from the adapter plate into the fuel tank and engages with the transfer valve body.

 WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT PERSONS AND THE EQUIPMENT ARE CLEAR BEFORE YOU
_______ MOVE THE FLAP CONTROL LEVER. THE LEADING EDGE FLAPS, THE TRAILING EDGE FLAPS AND THE FLAP DRIVE MECHANISMS WILL MOVE. WITH HYDRAULIC POWER REMOVED, ELECTRICAL POWER WILL MOVE THE FLAPS AUTOMATICALLY WHEN YOU MOVE THE FLAP CONTROL LEVEL.
 (1)  Extend the outboard trailing edge flaps (AMM 27-51-00/201).

 WARNING: DO THE PROCEDURE IN AMM 27-51-00/201 TO DEACTIVATE AND INSTALL
_______ LOCKS ON THE TRAILING EDGE FLAPS. THE TRAILING EDGE FLAPS MOVE QUICKLY AND CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
 (2) Deactivate the outboard trailing edge flaps (AMM 27-51-00/201).

Procedure

 S 014-044
 (1)  Remove the actuator for the transfer valve in the main tank
 (AMM 28-16-04/401).

Remove the sealant from around the periphery of the adapter plate and rear spar (if sealant was applied).

 (3)  
Go into the fuel tank through the access opening for the fuel tank, 545BB or 645BB (AMM 28-11-00/201).

 (4)  
Remove the bolts and the washers (4 locations) that attach the adapter to the spar.

 (5)  
Disconnect the adapter plate from the rear spar.

 (6)  
Disengage the shaft spline from the valve body.

 (7)  
Remove the shaft through the opening in the spar.

 (a)  
Discard the o-ring.

 (8)  Remove all of the old sealant from the rear spar around the periphery of the adapter plate (if sealant was applied).
