If you must remove the valve in the center wing tank, remove the access doors in the spanwise beam (AMM 28-11-09/401).

For the valve on the left side of the tank, remove the access doors 131AZ, 131BZ, and 131CZ.
(b)
For the valve on the right side of the tank, remove the access doors 131AZ, 131BZ, 132AZ, and 132BZ.

Remove the mounting bolts and the washers (2 places) that attach the drain valve to the mounting flange.

(1) Make sure all of the fuel has drained from the surge tank.

Prepare the surge tank for an entry (AMM 28-11-00/201).

(a)
Remove the mounting bolts and the washers (2 places) that attach the drain valve to the mounting flange.
(b)
Remove the fuel vent drain valve and the gasket from the tank.
