_______
A. This procedure contains these tasks:
(1)
Detection Check for Contamination With Microbes or Fungus.
(2)
Apply the Biocide to the Fuel Tanks.
(3)
Fuel Tanks Contaminated with Red Dye
(4)
Fuel Tank Cleaning, Microbial Growth, and Corrosion Removal.
(5)
Apply the Corrosion Resistant Finish (Topcoat)
B.
Microbes or fungus are the usual cause of structural corrosion of the fuel tank. They also cause deterioration of the components in the fuel tank. The microbes and fungus increase in number at the interface of the fuel and the water. To prevent this problem, decrease the quantity or remove all of the water kept in the tanks.
