Put the screwdriver into the pressure sense hole on the valve. Push the screwdriver up.

Make sure that the pressure relief valve opens.
NOTE: The pressure relief valve will make a sudden noise and
____ you will feel the valve poppet quickly move away from the screwdriver. It is necessary to apply approximately 35 pounds of force to operate the valve.

WING SURGE TANK PRESSURE RELIEF VALVE - REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

1. General_______
A. This section supplies instructions for the removal and installation of the pressure relief valves in the wing surge tank.
B. The pressure relief valves are installed in the access doors 555AB, 555BB, 655AB, and 655BB for the wing surge tank. The pressure relief valve and the access door are removed as a unit. Remove the valve from the door after you remove the access door.

(1) Remove the applicable access door 555AB, 555BB, 655AB, or 655BB found on the wing surge tank (AMM 28-11-03/401).

WARNING:_______KEEP YOUR FINGERS AWAY FROM THE POPPET SPRING (VIEW A-A). THE SPRING FORCE IS EXTREMELY STRONG AND CAN CAUSE INJURY TO YOUR FINGERS.

Do these steps to remove the pressure relief valve (1) (View A):
(a)
Remove the mounting bolts (4) that attach the pressure relief valve to the access door (3) (8 locations).
(b)
Remove the pressure relief valve (1) from the access door.
(c)
Discard the packing (2).
