WARNING:_______KEEP YOUR FINGERS AWAY FROM THE POPPET SPRING (VIEW A-A). THE
SPRING FORCE IS EXTREMELY STRONG AND CAN CAUSE INJURY TO YOUR
FINGERS.
(1) Keep your fingers away from the poppet spring when you do maintenance on the pressure relief valve.

(2) S 214-006Prepare the mating surfaces of the pressure relief valve (1) and the access door (3) for a faying surface bond (SWPM 20-20-00) (View A).
(3) S 434-007Install the new packing (2) on the pressure relief valve (1).
NOTE:____ Lubricate the packing with a thin coating of petrolatum.
(4) S 424-008Put the pressure relief valve (1) into the position on the access door (3).
(5) S 434-009Install and tighten the mounting bolts (4) (8 locations) that attach the valve to the access door (3).
(6) S 284-012Do these two bonding resistance checks (SWPM 20-20-00) (View A-A): (a) Measure the bonding resistance between the valve body and the access door.
NOTE:____ The bonding resistance must not be more than 0.010 ohm.
(b) Measure the bonding resistance between the valve poppet face and the access door.
NOTE:____ The bonding resistance must not be more than 1.00 ohm.
(7) S 624-016Apply these protective finishes to any exposed areas on the access door (3) at the mating surface of the valve body (1): (a) Alodine 600 (AMM 51-21-04/701).
