Connect a pressure gage to the air pressure source.

Connect the water manometer assembly, F72951-1, to the adapter on the pressure test door (two locations) (Fig. 608).
WARNING: BLOW INTO THE MANOMETER AND MAKE SURE THE WATER LEVEL
_______ CHANGES TO MAKE SURE THE WATER MANOMETER OPERATES SAFELY. MAKE SURE THE OPEN END OF THE MANOMETER IS CLEAR. IF THE WATER MANOMETER DOES NOT OPERATE CORRECTLY, INJURY TO PERSONS OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT COULD OCCUR.
(f) Make sure the water manometer assembly operates correctly.

Do these steps to install the blocker plate, G28019-21 on the surge tank access door (left and right wing) (Fig. 609, View D):
(a)
Remove four bolts from the surge tank access door.
(b)
Install the door blocker plate over the pressure relief valve on the surge tank access door.
(c)
Fasten the door plug with the four supplied bolts.
(d)
Tighten the tooling bolts to 35-40 pound-inches (4.0-4.5 newton-meters).

Install any removed fuel tank access doors (AMM 28-11-01/401, AMM 28-11-02/401).

WARNING:_______DO NOT GO INTO A FUEL TANK THAT IS PRESSURIZED. DO NOT USE MORE THAN THE MAXIMUM SAFE PRESSURE OF 5.20 PSIG. IF YOU GO INTO A PRESSURIZED FUEL TANK OR USE MORE THAN THE MAXIMUM SAFE PRESSURE, YOU COULD CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.

Supply 4.0 psig (27.6 kPa) air pressure to the fuel tank.

Do these steps to find the external leak:
(a)
Apply the bubble solution to the area out of the fuel tank that you think contains the leak.
(b)
Watch the area for bubbles.
NOTE: The size of the leak can cause the bubbles to show very
____ slowly. It is necessary to watch constantly to find the leak.
(c)
Make a mark at the locations where you see bubbles.
(d)
Use a moist cloth to remove the bubble solution from the external surface of the fuel tank.
(e)
Remove the pressure from the fuel tank.

I. Remove the Pressure Check Equipment

Do these steps to remove the pressure test door (left and right wing (Fig. 609, View C).
(a)
Disconnect the air pressure source.
(b)
Disconnect the water manometer.
(c)
Remove the pressure test door from the surge tank access door opening.
(d)
Install the surge tank access door (AMM 28-11-03/401).
(e)
Repeat these steps for the opposite wing.

Do these steps to remove the blocker plates (left and right

(a)
Remove the four mounting bolts.
(b)
Remove the blocker plate.
(c)
Install the four surge tank access door mounting bolts.
(d)
Tighten the mounting bolts to 35-40 pound-inches (4.0-4.5 newton-meters).
(e)
Repeat these steps for the opposite wing.

Do these steps to remove the vent scoop plug (left and right wing) (Fig. 609, View B):
(a)
Loosen the vent scoop plug assembly.
(b)
Remove the four plug attachment bolts.
(c)
Fasten the four bolts to the wingtip vent scoops.
