Paragraphs 3, 4, and 5 give instructions to attach the three types of fuel tube couplings used in the fuel system. The three types of couplings are the flexible full coupling, the flexible half coupling, and the rigid coupling.

2. Examine the Fuel System that Contains Fuel Contamination________________________________________________________
A. General
(1)
This procedure examines the fuel systems that have fuel contamination. It also examines the engine equipment (Chapter 71), the engine fuel system (Chapter 73), and the APU (Chapter 49) for contamination.

Examine the Fuel Boost Pumps

(1) On the pumps removed from the airplane, remove the four screws that attach the end plate to the pump.

WARNING: DO NOT REMOVE THE END PLATE FROM THE MOTOR/IMPELLER UNIT WHILE
_______ INSTALLED IN THE AIRPLANE UNLESS THE TANK IS EMPTY. A FUEL LEAKAGE CAN OCCUR AND CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE EQUIPMENT AND CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS.
(2) On the pumps installed in the airplane, remove the motor/impeller unit from the housing (AMM 28-22-03/401).

Remove the four screws that attach the motor end plate to the motor impeller/unit.

Examine the bearing click ring and the general condition of the end plate and the spacer ring for corrosion.

If you find corrosion in a pump, examine all the related tanks and the fuel system components at the first available time.
(a)
Clean the applicable fuel tank (AMM 28-11-00/701).
(b)
Flush the fuel lines with clean fuel.
(c)
Remove the fuel system components. 1) Disassemble and clean the fuel system components. 2) Replace the necessary fuel system components.

(6) Install the new O-ring in the housing.

CAUTION: BE VERY CAREFUL WHEN YOU INSTALL THE END CAP ON THE ROTOR
_______ SHAFT. THIS WILL MAKE SURE THAT NO DAMAGE TO THE SHAFT OR BEARING OCCURS.

Install the end cap on the rotor shaft.

Tighten the end cap to the inner housing with the four screws and the washers.

Torque the screws to 7-9 pound-inches.
(b)
Put a lockwire on the end cap.

(9) Install the motor/impeller unit for the boost pump, if it is removed (AMM 28-22-03/401).
