As the fuel levels in the inboard main tanks decrease, the float valves open and fuel flows from the center wing tank into the No. 2 or No. 3 main tank. The float valves in the inboard main tanks are uncovered when the fuel quantity indicates approximately 60,000 lbs (27,270 kgs).
(g)
During flight the scavenge system will continue to move (scavenge) the fuel from the center wing tank into the inboard main tanks until the center wing tank is empty (approximately four hours) or the until the flight ends and all of the pumps are set to the off position.
