Turn the shaft clockwise again at approximately the same rate that you used before.

Stop at the position where the torque increases to approximately two-thirds of the maximum torque that you wrote down before.

Read the scale on the tool at this position.
NOTE: This is the position where the valve butterfly starts to

engage the edge of the seal.
(h) Turn the handle 13 more degrees in the clockwise direction past the reading from the previous step.
NOTE: The butterfly valve is now centered on the valve seal.
____ If you turn the valve past the target value, do not turn it back in the counterclockwise direction. You must start again with the tool handle in the extreme counterclockwise position.

Tighten the lockscrew on the tool to keep the adapter shaft in its position.

(6) Loosen the bolts (3 locations) that hold the index plate to the
adapter shaft.

(7) Put the actuator or MIT65B92408-1 Tool into the splined bore of the
adapter plate/shaft and turn the actuator or MIT65B92408-1 Tool
until the index arrows on the valve body align.
NOTE:____ Keep the actuator in this closed position.

Turn the index plate only until the mounting holes (4 locations) align with the actuator or MIT65B92408-1 Tool holes.
