(2)
A test to make sure the center wing tank float valves are closed correctly.
(3)
A test to make sure the inboard main tank float valves are closed correctly.
B.
There are four float valves in the fuel scavenge system. There are two inlet float valves on the bottom of the center tank. These valves let fuel go from the center tank to the outlet float valves in each of the inboard main tanks. The outlet float valves, located near the top of the inboard main tanks, let fuel into the inboard main tanks when the fuel level is below the float valve.
C.
Each float valve can leak 10 to 25 lbs (5 to 12 kgs) of fuel per hour when the boost pumps are on and the center wing tank or inboard main tank float valves are closed. This quantity of fuel transfer is within the limits of the fuel scavenge system.
