Procedure

(1)
Prepare these surfaces for an electrical surface bond
(SWPM 20-20-00):
(a)
Faying surface of the index plate and valve actuator.
(b)
Faying surface of the bonding jumper and bonding jumper tab.

Make sure the manual override lever on the actuator is in the closed position.

Put the actuator into its position.
(a)
Engage the splined shaft of the actuator with the adapter plate.

Install the screws and the washers (4 locations) that attach the actuator to the index plate.
(a)
Tighten the cap screws.
CAUTION:_______INSTALL THE LOCKWIRE ON THE MOUNTING SCREWS CORRECTLY. IF YOU DO NOT, THE LOCKWIRE CAN CATCH WITH THE MANUAL OVERRIDE HANDLE AND CAUSE THE VALVE NOT TO OPEN.

Install the lockwire on the screws.

Make sure there is sufficient clearance between the manual override lever and the adapter plate.

Attach the bonding jumper to the lug on the actuator
(SWPM 20-20-00).
(a)
Use the bolt, the washers, and the nut.

(7) Measure the bonding resistance between the actuator and the spar (SWPM 20-20-00).
NOTE: The bonding resistance must not be more than 0.008 ohm.

(8) Connect the electrical connector to the valve actuator.
NOTE: Refer to the table below for the equipment numbers.
