A. General

The installation of the float valves in the No. 2 and 3 main tanks is almost the same. Use this procedure to install the float valves in the No. 2 or 3 main tanks.

Go into the applicable No. 2 or 3 main tank.

Use the sealant to apply a faying surface seal to the float valve and the structure.

Put the float valve in the correct position.

Attach the bolt, washer and nut (4 locations) but do not tighten the bolts until the couplings are attached to the float valve.

Tighten the tube coupling nut to the float valve.

Tighten the bolts.

Install the lockwire on the coupling nut and the structure.

Tighten the bonding clamp(s) and the tube support brackets if they were loosened for removal (AMM 20-11-15/401).

Measure the bonding resistance between these components

NOTE: The bonding resistance must not be more than 0.010 ohm.
