Install the Jet Pump(s)


 S 864-028
 WARNING:_______OBEY ALL THE FUEL TANK PURGING AND ENTRY PRECAUTIONS. YOU CAN CAUSE AN INJURY TO A PERSON AND CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE AIRPLANE.
 (1)  
Go into the center wing tank.

 S 164-031

 (2)  
Prepare the faying surface of the jet pump and the tank structure for a faying surface bond (SWPM 20-20-00).

 S 424-014

 (3)  
Put the jet pump in the correct location.

 S 424-015

 (4)  
Attach the bolt and the washer (2 locations) but do not tighten the bolts until the couplings are attached to the jet pump.

 (5)  
Lightly lubricated the new O-rings (for the couplings) with the petrolatum.

 (6)  
Install the O-rings in the couplings.

 (7)  
Manually tighten the couplings to the jet pump (3 locations) until no threads are shown (AMM 28-00-00/201).

 (8)  
Tighten the bolts.

 (9)  Measure the bonding resistance between the jet pump and the tank structure (faying surface bond) (SWPM 20-20-00).
 NOTE: The bonding resistance must not be more than 0.010 ohm.

 Install the lockwire through the couplings.

 Tighten the bonding clamp(s) and the tube support brackets if they were loosened for removal (SWPM 20-20-00).

 Measure the bonding resistance between the bonding jumpers adjacent to the jet pump and the tank structure (SWPM 20-20-00).


 NOTE: The bonding resistance must not be more than 0.010 ohm.

Remove all of the unwanted material from the center wing tank.

Install the spanwise beam access doors 131AZ, 131BZ, 131CZ, and 132AZ (AMM 28-11-09/401).

 (3)  
Install the center wing tank access doors (AMM 28-11-01/401).

 SCAVENGE SYSTEM FLOAT VALVE - REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

 1.  General_______
 A.  This procedure has four tasks:
 (1)  
The removal of the float operated shutoff valves (float valves) in the center wing tank for the hydromechanical fuel scavenge system.

 (2)  
The installation of the float valves in the center wing tank for the hydromechanical fuel scavenge system.

 (3)  
The removal of the float valves in the No. 2 and 3 main tanks for the hydromechanical fuel scavenge system.

 (4)  
The installation of the float valves in the No. 2 and 3 main tanks for the hydromechanical fuel scavenge system.

 B.  
The fuel scavenge system has four float valves.

 (1)  
There are two float valves in the center wing tank attached to the lower panel intercostals (aft of the No. 1 spanwise beam for the center wing tank) (Fig. 401).

 (2)  
There is one float valve in the No. 2 main tank attached to the first rib (WBL 150.00) at the mid spar (Fig. 401).

 (3)  
There is one float valve in the No. 3 main tank attached to the first rib (WBL 150.00) at the mid spar.
