Operate the engine as follows:
WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT THE BRAKES ARE SUFFICIENT AND THAT THE
_______ ADDED EXHAUST (JET BLAST) WILL NOT CAUSE PROBLEMS. BRAKES THAT ARE NOT SUFFICIENT AND TOO MUCH EXHAUST CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT AND INJURIES TO PERSONS.
CAUTION: MAKE SURE YOU OBEY THE WIND VELOCITY AND DIRECTION
_______ LIMITS. IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THE LIMITS, FAN TIP STALL CAN OCCUR.
1) Start the engine (AMM 71-00-00/201) and operate it at minimum power for 3 minutes until the engine is stable.
2) Increase the speed of the engine slowly, during a time of 20-30 seconds, until the speed is 80 |2 %N1 rpm.
3) Continue to operate the engine at a speed of 80 |2 %N1 rpm for a minimum of 5 minutes to make the temperature of the engine stable.
NOTE: The time to make the temperature stable can be
____ decreased to a minimum of 3 minutes if the engine was operated less than 15 minutes before this procedure. This 3 minute time is not necessary if the trim balance procedure is started less than 5 minutes after the engine was operated at high power and was not stopped.
(h)
Increase the speed of the engine slowly to the correct takeoff target %N1.
(i)
Decrease the speed slowly and continuously until the engine is stable at the N1 speeds shown in Figure 504. 1) Make sure the vibrations become stable.

2) When the vibrations become stable, put into the analyzer the vibration amplitude (U) and phase angle (A) for each sensor, front and rear.
NOTE: If the vibration does not become stable in 1 minute,
____ continue the procedure, but do not keep this data.
(j)
Decrease the speed to minimum power.
(k)
After 5 minutes, when the engine becomes stable, do the engine shutdown procedure (AMM 71-00-00/201).
(l)
See if the vibration levels of the No. 1 bearing (or FFCCV) are not more than 3.5 mils DA and the levels of the TRF are not more than 4.0 mils DA. 1) If the vibration levels are not more than the limits, the
trim balance procedure is completed. a) Do this subsequent task: Put the Airplane Back to Its Usual Condition. 2) If the vibration levels are more than the limits, use the analyzer a second time to decrease the vibrations more.
I. FOR KITS 856A2633, 856A2605G22/G18/G17/G13, AND 856A2605G20/G12; Do the one shot plot procedure as follows.
S 975-009-C00
(1) Do the steps that follow to get the initial data for the one shot plot procedure.
(a) Make a record of the initial balance screws as follows:
CAUTION: MAKE SURE THAT YOU PUT COVERS ON ALL OF THE LOWER
_______ HALF OF THE INLET COWL SURFACE. ALSO MAKE SURE THAT THE EDGES OF THE MATS TOUCH OR ARE ATTACHED WITH SOME TAPE. IF THE EDGES ARE NOT, THEN THE TOOLS OR PARTS CAN FALL AND CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE INLET COWL SURFACE.
1) Use tape to put the protective mats on the inner lower half of the inlet cowl.
2) Make a record of the type and location of the balance screws that are installed radially in the spinner rear cone (Fig. 502 and 503).
3) Remove the protective mats and all other remaining unwanted material from the inlet cowl.
(b)
If you did not do this before, during trouble-shooting (AMM 71-00-47/101), examine the AVM system to find the high vibration source and the related engine speed (AMM 77-31-00/001).
(c)
Find and make a record of the conditions that follow:
