Engine Operations Above the Limits and High Engine Stress Inspection
_____________________________________________________________________
 (d)  If the point is in Area D:
NOTE: You must remove the engine for EGT exceedances in
____ Area D. See the details of a one non-revenue flyback allowance.
 1)  Make a visual inspection of the inlet and the exhaust before the subsequent flight.
 2)  Identify and correct the cause for the EGT overtemperature (if possible) before the subsequent flight. a) Use the applicable troubleshooting procedures to
determine the cause as necessary (AMM 71-00-42/101).
 3)  Do a borescope inspection of the HPT blades and the 1st-stage LPT blades before the subsequent flight. a) If the damage is more than the limits from the
applicable section of the borescope inspection, remove the engine for an overtemperature inspection.
 b)  If the damage is in the limits of the borescope inspection, one nonrevenue flight is permitted before you must remove the engine for an overtemperature inspection.
 F.  Takeoff Power Kept for More than 5 Minutes
 S 216-065-C00
 (1)  There is no inspection necessary if the EGT limits, from Figure 611, are obeyed.
 G.  N1 Overspeed
 S 816-066-C00
 (1) If the N1 overspeed is between 106 and 109 percent of the N1 rpm:
NOTE: On airplanes with a redline limit of 102% on the N1
____ indicator, if an overspeed indication (warning light illumination) occurs, no procedure is necessary if the N1 rpm is not more than 106%.
 (a)
Visually examine the engine inlet and exhaust for damage. 1) Repair or replace the engine as necessary.

 (b)
Do the borescope inspection procedure of the 4th-stage LPT blades.

WARNING:_______BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU TURN THE FAN ROTOR. MAKE SURE YOU ARE IN A STABLE POSITION. ALSO, YOU MUST WEAR HEAVY PROTECTIVE GLOVES TO PREVENT DAMAGE TO YOUR HANDS. IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THESE INSTRUCTIONS, INJURIES TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT CAN OCCUR.

 (c)
Examine the N1 rotor for free movement.
 1) Turn the rotor with your hand.

_____________________________________________________________________ 2) If the bearings are rough, if there are unusual noises or if the rotor binds, replace the engine (AMM 71-00-02/401).
NOTE:____ It is permitted to have light rub marks on the
 seals and shrouds.
 (d)  Examine the fan rotor blades for shingling
 (AMM 72-31-02/601).
 (e)  Examine the abradable material on the fan blade
 (AMM 72-33-00/601).
 (f)  Do the borescope inspection procedure for the
4th-stage booster blades and the 1st-stage LPT blades.
 (g)  Do the troubleshooting procedure to find and correct the
 N1 overspeed (AMM 71-00-42/101).

 S 026-067-C00
 (2)  Replace the engine if the N1 overspeed is more than 109% of the N1 rpm (AMM 71-00-02/401).
 H. N2 Overspeed
 S 816-068-C00
 (1)  If the N2 overspeed is between 105 and 106% of the N2 rpm:
 (a)
Visually examine the exhaust of the engine for metal particles.

 (b)
Do the borescope inspection procedure for the 1st-, 3rd-, and 8th-stage HPC blades and the HPT blades.

 S 026-069-C00
 (2)  Replace the engine if the N2 overspeed is more than 106% of the N2 rpm (AMM 71-00-02/401).
