 (1) Do this task: Test 7 - Vibration Survey (AMM 71-00-00/501). ú (a) This test is not necessary if the cause for the trim balance ú (initial imbalance) is less than 4.0 units. ú (b) Monitor the vibration level on subsequent engine operation.
 H.  Put the Airplane Back to Its Usual Condition

SPINNER - REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

 1.  General

 A.  This procedure contains two tasks for the removal and installation of the spinner front and rear cones.
 B.  Access to the spinner is from the engine inlet.
 C.  The spinner is removed for repair, replacement and for the fan blade removal and installation.

 A.  General
 (1)  This task contains three steps:
 -Prepare to Remove the Spinner
 -
Remove the Spinner Front Cone

 -
Remove the Spinner Rear Cone

 B.  Equipment
 (1)  
Tool set - jackscrews, 856A1130P08 and P11,
 CFM International, P.O. Box 15514,
 Cincinnati, OH 45215

 (2)  
Puller tool set - spinner rear cone, 856A2601,
 CFM International (optional to 856A1130P11).

 (3)  
Protective mats (two necessary) -Rubber Manufacturer's Association, Grade SC43,
 neoprene sponge, 1.0 inch thick, approximately

 

 3.0 x 4.0 feet with warning streamers attached
 C.  Access
 (1)  Location Zones
 101 Flight Compartment, Left
 102 Flight Compartment, Right
 501 Engine No. 1 - Inlet Cowl
 601 Engine No. 2 - Inlet Cowl
 506 Engine No. 1 - Fan Disk
 606 Engine No. 2 - Fan Disk

 D.  Prepare to Remove the Spinner

 (1)  Make sure the start levers are in the CUTOFF position.
 (a)  Install the DO-NOT-OPERATE tags.

 (2)  Make sure you open these circuit breakers:
 (a)  Main Power Distribution Panel P6
 1) ENG 1 START VALVE
 2) ENG 2 START VALVE

 CAUTION:_______MAKE SURE YOU INSTALL THE MATS IN THE INLET COWL. THIS WILL PREVENT DAMAGE FROM TOOLS, PARTS OR UNWANTED MATERIAL THAT FALL ON THE INLET COWL.
 (3)  Install the mats into the lower half of the inlet cowl.
 E. Remove the Spinner Front Cone (Fig. 401)

 CAUTION: MAKE SURE THE SPINNER FRONT CONE DOES NOT FALL WHEN IT
_______ DISCONNECTS FROM THE SPINNER REAR CONE. IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THIS PRECAUTION, DAMAGE TO THE CONE CAN OCCUR.
 (1)  Disconnect the spinner front cone from the spinner rear cone.
 (a)  Remove the eight bolts and washers that attach the spinner front cone to the spinner rear cone.
