ENGINES WITH 37 DEGREE MIDSPAN SHROUDS (CFMI SB 72-543); The spinner rear cone must be equipped at all locations with P07 balance screws.
(c)
Lightly lubricate the 12 bolts with grease.
(d)
Heat the aft flange of the spinner rear cone to approximately 140°F (60°C) with a heat gun.
(e)
Put the spinner rear cone on the guide pins that are on the disk flange. 1) Align the offset hole in the spinner with the offset guide
pin.
NOTE: Align the machined dimples on the mating surface
____ of the fan disc at the location of the No. 1 fan blade with the aft external surface of the rear cone.
2) ENGINES WITH CFMI SB 72-488; Make sure that the lip of the bonded seal is correctly engaged under the forward platform of the fan blades (Fig. 402).
CAUTION:_______DO NOT LET THE TOOLS TOUCH THE FAN BLADES. DO NOT USE RATCHET TOOLS WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL THE BOLTS AND WASHERS. IF THE TOOLS TOUCH THE FAN BLADES, THEN YOU CAN CRACK THE BLADES.
(f)
Install the nine bolts and washers that attach the rear cone to the fan disk flange.
(g)
Let the cone mating flanges cool to an ambient temperature.
(h)
Remove the three guide pins. 1) Install the last three bolts and washers.
(i)
Tighten the bolts to the final torque of 95-115 pound-inches (11-13 Newton meters).
(j)
Make sure the clearance between the aft edge of the rear cone and fan blades is as follows (Fig. 402): 1) The clearance must be 0.014-0.060 inch (0.37-1.54 mm). 2) If the clearance is not in the limits, remove the spinner
rear cone and make a check of the fan blades for correct installation.

F. Install the spinner front cone.

(1) Do these steps to install the spinner front cone:
(a)
Heat the front flange of the spinner rear cone to approximately 175°F (80°C) with a heat gun.
(b)
Put the front cone on the rear cone.
1) Align the offset holes and machined dimples on the flange mating faces.
(c)
Lightly lubricate the bolts with graphite grease.
(d)
Install the eight bolts and washers that attach the front cone to the rear cone.
(e)
Let the cone mating flanges cool to ambient temperature.
1) Tighten the bolts to a final torque of 95-115 pound-inches (11-13 Newton meters).
G. Put the Airplane Back to its Usual Condition
