For the applicable engine, open this circuit breaker and attach a DO-NOT-CLOSE tag: 1) Main Power Distribution Panel P6

 a)  ENG VIB MON

 (b)  
Disconnect the breakout cable from the signal conditioner connector and the electronic shelf connector.

 (c)  
Install the AVM signal conditioner (AMM 77-31-03/401).

 (d)  
For the applicable engine, close this circuit breaker and attach a DO-NOT-CLOSE tag: 1) Main Power Distribution Panel P6

 a)  ENG VIB MON

 (e)  
During a subsequent engine run, do a check of the N1 and AVM indications to make sure they operate correctly.

 7.  AIRPLANES WITH THE VIBRO-METER AVM S360N021-113/-114; In-Flight Data Trim Balance Procedure______________________________________
 A.  General
 (1)  
This trim balance procedure is done for these conditions:

 (a)  
To decrease the fan or LPT vibration levels when they are equal to or more than 8 mils DA (double amplitude).

 (b)  
When, after the replacement or the repair of a fan blade, the correction is more than 236 gram-inches (600 g-cm).

 

 (2)  
The trim balance procedures should decrease the vibration levels of the fan and the LPT to less than 4.0 units on the airborne vibration monitor (AVM) during a ground operation at all engine operation speeds.

(3)  When an engine is installed on the wing, after an overhaul or after a replacement of a significant number of fan blades, it is recommended that you first do a vibration survey (AMM 71-00-00/501).
 (a)  If the result of this vibration survey is not satisfactory, you can do one of two methods to balance the engine: 1) Do a 3-shot plot trim balance procedure to decrease the
 engine vibration level; or, 2) Use this procedure to balance the engine with the AVM.
 B. Equipment
 (1)  Mat - Protective, 3/8 Inch Minimum Thickness, Minimum 42 Inches by
 60 Inches With Warning Streamers (commercially available).
