(b)
If the fire was contained in the exhaust area, use the EGT overtemperature limits (Fig. 610).
NOTE: If the engine motors after the fire switches have
____ been closed, make an inspection of the engine-driven hydraulic pump (EPD) for possible damage.
1) If the temperature is in area A: a) Use the troubleshooting procedure to find the cause of the internal engine fire (AMM 71-00-41/101). 2) If the temperature is in areas B, C, or D: a) Do the procedures to do a borescope inspection of the HPT blades and the 1st-stage LPT. b) Use the troubleshooting procedure to find the cause of the internal engine fire (AMM 71-00-41/101).

(4) Do one of the procedures given below after the fire extinquishing agents have been used on the internal area of the engine.
(a) If carbon dioxide (CO2) was used:
1) Remove the engine and make an inspection of the areas of the engine where the CO2 was used (AMM 71-00-02/401). a) Refer to the Engine Overhaul Manual for the inspection
procedure.

If halogen products were used:
CAUTION: DO NOT LET TITANIUM COMPONENTS TOUCH MATERIALS THAT
_______ CONTAIN HALOGEN. DAMAGE TO THE TITANIUM PARTS CAN OCCUR.
1) If you can operate the engine in 3 hours, do these steps: a) Dry motor the engine for 5 minutes (AMM 71-00-00/201). b) Stop the engine for 5 to 10 minutes. c) Dry motor the engine again for 5 minutes
(AMM 71-00-00/201). d) Wash the engine gaspath (AMM 72-00-00/701). e) Change the engine oil (AMM 12-13-11/301). f) Before the next three hours, operate the engine at idle
for 10 minutes (AMM 71-00-00/201).
