Continue to turn the jackscrews until they touch the rear cone.

Turn the jackscrews in a sequence to disconnect the front cone from the rear cone.
(e)
Remove the front cone.

CAUTION:_______DO NOT LET THE TOOLS TOUCH THE FAN BLADES. DO NOT USE RATCHET TOOLS WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL THE BOLTS AND WASHERS. IF THE TOOLS TOUCH THE FAN BLADES, THEN YOU CAN CRACK THE BLADES.
MAKE SURE THE SPINNER REAR CONE DOES NOT FALL WHEN IT DISCONNECTS FROM THE FAN DISK.
(a) Remove the 12 bolts and washers that attach the aft flange of the spinner rear cone to the fan disk flange.
NOTE: You can remove the balance bolts to get at the bolts to
____ the spinner rear cone. The balance bolts you removed must be installed at their initial location to get the rotor to balance.
(b)
Attach the six jackscrews (from the puller tool set) to the rear cone, 60 degrees from each other.
(c)
Disconnect the spinner rear cone from the fan disk.
(d)
ENGINES WITH CFMI SB 72-488; Do not remove the bonded seal from the aft end of the rear cone (Fig. 402).
