4) Look for nicks, dents and scratches on the airfoil surfaces that are in area E. a) No maximum number if the damage is less than 0.019 inch
ú (0.5 mm) in depth.

_ the metal. b) A maximum service extension of 50 cycles/75 hours is permitted if the damage is less than 0.059 inch
(1.5 mm) in depth.

7) Look for distortion to the leading and trailing edges and not in Area E. a) The maximum axial length is 0.197 inch (5 mm) and the
maximum radial length is 0.59 inch (15 mm).

b) A maximum service extension of 50 cycles/75 hours is permitted if the maximum circumference is 0.275 inch (7 mm) and the radial length is 0.708 inch (18 mm).
8) Look for deposits and erosion
a) No maximum amount.
(d) Examine the stator vanes as follows:
NOTE: The limit to the vane inspection are the vanes you see
____ through the borescope viewer.
NOTE: If damage is found, you must do a borescope inspection
____ of the downstream booster stages and the HPC.
1) Look for missing pieces. a) A maximum of 20 vanes is permitted with these conditions:
