(3) You must do the Fan Blade Inspection (With Blades Removed) if you find the conditions that follow:
(a) Seized blade tip(s) in the fan case abradable shroud.
1) Release the blade tip(s) with your hand with movement of
the tip(s) in the forward and circumferential direction. 2) Examine the abradable shroud for damage (AMM 72-33-00/601). 3) Turn the rotor with your hand to make sure the rotor turns
freely.
NOTE: Light pressure from the internal seals and shrouds

is usual.
(b)
Signs of fan blade shingling.
1) A maximum service extension of 50 cycles is permitted if the condition is not more than the limits for shingled mid-span shrouds.
(c)
Signs of unusual conditions in the fan.

(4) Examine the areas of the installed fan blades (Fig. 601) for the conditions that follow:

(a) Platform (does not include fillet):
1) There is no limit on the quantity of nicks, dents and scratches if: a) The damage is not more than 0.02 inch (0.5 mm) in
depth. b) The scratches are not more than 0.4 inch (10.0 mm) in length. 2) Cracks or tears are not serviceable.

Fillet radius:
1) Nicks, dents, scratches, cracks, and tears are not
serviceable.
(c)
Root area: 1) There is no limit on the quantity of nicks and dents on the leading edge if not more than 0.015 inch (0.4 mm) in depth.
2) There is no limit on the quantity of nicks, dents and
scratches on the contour surface as follows:
a) The damage is not more than 0.003 inch (0.08 mm) in
depth. b) The scratches are not more than 0.4 inch (10.0 mm) in length. 3) Cracks, tears and distortion on the full root area are not serviceable.
