b) If not serviceable, a maximum service extension of 25 cycles or 50 hours is permitted.
(e)
Shingled or Unlatched Tip Shrouds (Fig. 608). 1) Shingled or unlatched tip shrouds are not serviceable.
a) If not serviceable, try to unshingle or relatch the 4th Stage blades (AMM 72-54-00/801).

Low Pressure Turbine (LPT) Rotor Blade (4th Stage) - Inspection
_______________________________________________________________ b) If the blades were unshingled or relatched, do this step: Examine Tip Shroud Interlock Wear. c) If the blades were not unshingled or relatched, do the step below. d) If not serviceable but rotor turns freely and engine vibration is not excessive, a maximum service extension of 25 cycles or 50 hours for shingled blades or 100 cycles or 200 hours for unlatched blades is permitted.
(f) Tip Shroud Interlock Wear (Fig. 608).
NOTE: Do this inspection with the tip shrouds in the normal
____ (not shingled/unlatched) position.
NOTE: The maximum interlock usually occurs at 2 to 6 locations
____ (equally spaced). You should measure the interlock wear at these locations.
NOTE: You can measure the interlock wear from the alignment of
____ the aft face of the tip shrouds. To measure the interlock wear, use a flashlight and a mirror. Do a check of the alignment with the honeycomb cells in the outer stationary air seals as a reference (one of the cells is equivalent to 0.06 inch (1.5 mm)). If you are not sure, use modeling clay to get an accurate dimension.
1) To do a check for wear that is more than usual on the interlocks, measure the aft edge offset of the blade (Fig. 608). a) Interlock wear is servicable if the nonalignment of the
aft face (of the tip shrouds) is less than 0.12 inch
(3 mm) and the interlocks have axial preload.
b) It is serviceable to have a nonalignment between 0.12-0.20 inch (3-5 mm) if you do this inspection: Tip Shroud Interlock Wear, for the LPT 4-th stage blades every 100 cycles or 200 hours.

Low Pressure Turbine (LPT) Rotor Blade (4th Stage) - Inspection
_______________________________________________________________ c) If the nonalignment is more than 0.20 inch (5 mm), this is not serviceable and you must remove the engine before 100 cycles or 200 hours.
(g)
Tip Shroud Lateral Faces Wear (Fig. 608)
1) Tip shroud lateral face wear is serviceable if there is axial preload.
(h)
Tip Shroud Out-of-Flush (Fig. 608).
1) Tip shroud out-of-flush is serviceable if the tip shroud platforms are not overlapped (shingled).
(i)
Cirumferential looseness is serviceable if axial preload is present.
(j)
Particles peeling away from the airfoil are serviceable if you do not find airfoils that are bowed or melted.

CAUTION: MAKE SURE YOU INSTALL THE CORRECT BORESCOPE PLUG IN THE CORRECT
_______ LOCATION. THE BORESCOPE PLUG TO THE LPT STAGE 1 AND COMBUSTION CASE HAVE THE SAME THREAD SIZE. THE BORESCOPE PLUG STEM OF THE LPT STAGE 1 NOZZLE WILL BE BURNED AWAY IF IT IS INSTALLED IN THE BORESCOPE PORT OF THE COMBUSTION CASE.
