 (1)  Do a visual check of the spinner front and rear cones for damage as follows (Fig. 601):
 (a)  
Cracks in the two elliptical spinners. 1) Cracks in the two spinners are not serviceable. 2) If you find cracks in the spinners, replace the front

 and/or rear cone (AMM 72-31-01/401).

 (b)  
Dents on the spinner. 1) The is no maximum limit to the number of dents.

 (c)  
Damage to the surface protection of the elliptical spinner front and rear cone. 1) It is permitted to have up to 100 percent of the total


 surface damaged.

Corrosion marks (white mushroom pattern) on the front spinner. 1) These corrosion marks are not serviceable. 2) Replace the front spinner (AMM 72-31-01/401). 3) A maximum service extension of 100 cycles is permitted.

 (e)  
Contact marks on the bonded lip seal (Fig. 602).

 1)  Contact marks on the bonded lip seal are permitted without limit.

 (f)  
Tears on the bonded lip seal. 1) All tears on the bonded lip seal are permitted.

 (g)  
Missing bonded lip seal. 1) It is permitted to have a missing lip seal.

 (h)  
Oil wetting of the inner surface of the spinner cone, the fan disk, or the forward fan shaft. 1) None permitted. Replace the O-rings on the LPT shaft plug


 (AMM 72-55-00/201).
