(2) Examine the leading or trailing edge of the 1st-stage LPT NGV's (Fig. 607) for cracks, burns or missing material:
NOTE: You can only make an inspection of the areas that you can see

through the borescope.
ú (a) Cracks in the trailing edge
1) No maximum limit to the quantity if they are less than
0.6 inch (15.2 mm) in length (1/3 of the chord length) on
all the vanes of the same nozzle segment.
NOTE: A nozzle segment has three vanes.____
2) One crack for each vane is permitted for a maximum of two
vanes of the same nozzle segment if they are more than
0.6 inch (15.2 mm) but less than 1.0 inch (25.4 mm) in
length (1/2 of the chord length).
a) At least one vane for each nozzle segment must be in
the limits of the first step above.
3) A maximum service extension of 100 cycles is permitted if:
a) There is only one crack for each vane that is more than
1.0 inch (25.4 mm) in length on all the vanes of the
same nozzle segment.
b) All other cracks are less than 1.0 inch (25.4 mm) in
length.
ú (b) Cracks in the leading edge
ú 1) No maximum limit to the quantity if they are less than
ú 0.6 inch (15.2 mm) in length (1/3 of the chord length) on
ú all the vanes of the same nozzle segment.
ú 2) One axial crack for each vane is permitted for a maximum of
ú two vanes of the same nozzle segment if they are more than
ú 1.0 inch (25.4 mm) but less than 1.5 inch (38.0 mm) in
ú length (4/5 of the chord length) and less than 0.004 inch
ú (0.1 mm) in width.
ú a) At least one vane for each nozzle segment must be in
ú the limits of the first step above.
