HPT Blades and Shrouds and 1st-Stage LPT NGV's - Inspection

2) A maximum service extension of 10 cycles is permitted if
the cracks are less than 0.10 inch (2.5 mm) in length and
the cracks do no connect more than two holes.
(h) Other axial and radial cracks in area C or the root radius are
not permitted.
(i) There is no limit to the quantity of nicks and dents in areas A
and B.
(j) Nicks and dents in area C and the root radius are permitted if
these conditions are obeyed:
1) They are less than 0.05 inch (1.3 mm) in length
2) They are a minimum separation of 0.125 inch (3.18 mm)
3) There is no material that has cracks or is torn.
ú (k) There is no limit for casting lines on the platform or leading
ú edge root fillet area of the blade.

(4) Examine the blade tip, concave side and convex side in the areas not
seen from the aft side with the rigid borescope.
(a) Use the limits for the HPT blade previously given for the
procedure with the rigid borescope.

(5) Examine the HPT shrouds.
(a) Adjust the flexible borescope in the right igniter port to see
the HPT shrouds.
(b) Use the limits for the HPT shrouds previously given for the
procedure with the rigid borescope.
(c) Install the right spark igniter (AMM 74-21-02/401).
1) Tighten the clamp on the igniter cable.
(d) Examine the HPT shrouds with the flexible borescope in the
spark igniter port on the left side, as follows:
1) Remove the right spark igniter (AMM 74-21-02/401).
2) Examine the HPT shrouds through the igniter port on the
left side.
a) Use the limits for the HPT shrouds previously given for
the procedure with the rigid borescope.
