DIFFERENTIAL AIR PRESSURE REGULATOR - ADJUSTMENT/TEST

 1.  General
_______
 A.  This procedure contains a task which does a test and adjusts the regulator for the differential air pressure. During this procedure, the regulator is referred to as the differential pressure regulator.
 B.  You must do an operational test of the differential pressure regulator for these conditions:
 (1)  
The regulator was disassembled and cleaned.

 (2)  
The regulator was removed and replaced.

 (3)  
The bleed air valve was removed and replaced.


 C.  The differential pressure regulator is installed on a bracket on the bleed air valve. You can get access to the regulator through the APU cowl door.

Air Pressure Gage - 0-30 psi (0-200 kPa)

Flexible Air Line

 (3)  
Fittings - to connect the air line to the gage and the test port

 D.  Procedure
 S 865-001
 (1)  Set the switch and the circuit breaker:
 (a)  Set the APU master switch on the P5 forward overhead panel to the OFF position and attach a DO-NOT-OPERATE tag.

(b)  Open this circuit breaker and attach a DO-NOT-CLOSE tag: 1) E3-3 Electrical Shelf, APU Control Unit
 S 015-002
 (2)  Open the APU cowl door:
 (a)  
Open the latches for the APU cowl door.

 (b)  
Open the APU cowl door.

 (c)  
Connect the door support rods.


 S 485-003
 (3)  Install the test pressure gage:
 (a)  
Remove the cap from the T-fitting on the bleed air valve.

 (b)  
Connect the flexible air line to the pressure gage and the T-fitting.


 S 785-004
 (4)  Do the test of the differential pressure regulator:
 (a)  
Remove the DO-NOT-CLOSE tag and close this circuit breaker: 1) E3-3 Electrical Shelf, APU Control Unit

 (b)  
Remove the DO-NOT-OPERATE tag from the APU master switch on the P5 forward overhead panel.

 (c)  
Start and operate the APU (AMM 49-11-00/201).

 (d)  
During the APU operation, monitor the pressure shown on the test pressure gage. 1) The pressure must be 18.5-19.5 psig (127.5-134.0 kPa).

 (e)  
Do the APU usual shutdown (AMM 49-11-00/201).

 (f)  
Set the APU master switch on the P5 forward overhead panel to the OFF position and attach a DO-NOT-OPERATE tag.

 (g)  
Open this circuit breaker and attach a DO-NOT-CLOSE tag: 1) E3-3 Electrical Shelf, APU Control Unit

 (h)  
If the pressure is not in the limits, adjust the differential pressure regulator: 1) Loosen the adjustment screw locknut. 2) If the outlet pressure is too low, turn the adjustment
