C. Procedure
S 424-010
(1) Install the starter motor to the mount pad on the gearbox assembly:
(a)
Install the packing on the mount pad for the starter motor.
(b)
Put the starter motor on the accessory drive.
(c)
Put the starter motor at an angle.
(d)
Turn the starter motor shaft until the starter motor shaft engages the accessory drive shaft.
(e)
Carefully install the starter motor on the mount pad with the washers and the nuts.
(f)
Tighten the nuts to 70-90 pound-inches (7.9-10.2 N.m).

CAUTION: MAKE SURE YOU CONNECT THE ELECTRICAL LEADS TO THE STARTER MOTOR
_______ TERMINALS CORRECTLY. AN ELECTRICAL LEAD THAT IS INCORRECTLY ATTACHED CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE APU WHEN THE APU IS STARTED.
(2) Connect the electrical leads to the applicable starter motor terminals:
(a)
Remove the tags from the starter motor terminals and the electrical leads.
(b)
Put the electrical leads on the applicable starter motor terminal.
(c)
Install the nuts on the starter motor terminals.

(d) Tighten the nuts for the starter motor terminals to 75 pound-inches (8.5 N.m).

(3) Set the circuit breaker and the switch:
(a)
Remove the DO-NOT-CLOSE tag and close this circuit breaker: 1) E3-3 Electrical Shelf, APU Control Unit
(b)
Remove the DO-NOT-OPERATE tag from the APU master switch on the P5 forward overhead panel.

Start and operate the APU (AMM 49-11-00/201).

Do the APU usual shutdown (AMM 49-11-00/201).

(6) Install the lower shroud: (a) Hold the lower shroud against the upper shroud. (b) Close the shroud latches.

(7) Close the APU cowl door: (a) Disconnect the door support rods. (b) Put the door support rods in the clips on the APU cowl door. (c) Close the APU cowl door. (d) Close the latches for the APU cowl door.
