(1) Set the switch and the circuit breaker:
(a)
Set the APU master switch, on the P5 forward overhead panel, to the OFF position and attach a DO-NOT-OPERATE tag.
(b)
Open this circuit breaker and attach a DO-NOT-CLOSE tag: 1) E3-3 Electrical Shelf, APU Control Unit

(2) Open the APU cowl door:
(a) Open the latches for the APU cowl door.

Open the APU cowl door.
(c)
Connect the door support rods.

CAUTION:_______BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU MOVE THE LOWER SHROUD. DAMAGE TO THE SHROUD DRAIN LINES CAN OCCUR.
(3) Remove the lower shroud:
(a)
Hold the lower shroud and open the shroud latches.
(b)
Remove the lower shroud.

CAUTION: MAKE SURE THAT NO DIRT GOES INTO THE FUEL CONTROL UNIT WHEN YOU
_______ REMOVE THE FILTER ELEMENT. UNWANTED DIRT CAN CAUSE A BAD EFFECT ON THE OPERATION OF THE FUEL CONTROL UNIT.
(4) Remove the filter element for the high pressure fuel filter:
(a)
Remove the lockwire from the filter cap and the fuel control unit.
(b)
Remove the filter cap for the high pressure fuel filter from the fuel control unit.
(c)
Remove the filter element and the packings.
(d)
Discard the filter element and the packings.

(5) Clean the filter cap for the high pressure fuel filter:
WARNING: DO NOT GET THE SOLVENT IN YOUR MOUTH, OR YOUR EYES, OR ON
_______ YOUR SKIN. DO NOT BREATHE THE FUMES FROM THE SOLVENT. PUT ON A PROTECTIVE SPLASH GOGGLE AND GLOVE WHEN YOU USE THE SOLVENT. KEEP THE SOLVENT AWAY FROM SPARKS, FLAME, AND HEAT. THE SOLVENT IS A POISONOUS AND FLAMMABLE MATERIAL WHICH CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
(a)
Clean the filter cap with the solvent.
(b)
Dry the filter cap with the air.

(6) Install the filter element for the high pressure filter element:
(a)
Apply a thin layer of lubricant on the new packing for the filter element.
(b)
Install the new packing on the new filter element.
