 (5)  S 912-032Supply external electrical power to the airplane (AMM 24-22-00/201).
 NOTE:____ The ac power is necessary to operate the aft boost pump in the No. 1 fuel tank.
 (6)  S 862-034Set the No. 1 AFT FUEL PUMP switch, on the P5 forward overhead panel, to the ON position.
 NOTE:____ If you must use the fuel boost pumps in the center tank, you must have a maintenance person or observer in the flight compartment to continuously monitor the LOW PRESSSURE lights. Turn the applicable fuel boost pump to the OFF position if the LOW PRESSURE light for the center tank stays on.
 (7)  S 862-035Remove the DO-NOT-CLOSE tag and close this circuit breaker: (a) E3-3 Electrical Shelf, APU Control Unit
 (8)  S 862-036Remove the DO-NOT-OPERATE tag from the APU master switch and set the APU master switch to the ON position.
 NOTE:____ Do not move the APU master switch to the START position. is not necessary to start the APU. It
 (9)  S 792-037Monitor the fuel pressure to make sure there are no leaks: (a) Make sure the fuel pressure at the pressure gage is approximately 20 psig (138 kPa). (b) Manually close the APU fuel valve. (c) Set the No. 1 AFT FUEL PUMP switch, on the P5 forward overhead panel, to the OFF position.

(d)  
Set the APU master switch, on the P5 forward overhead panel, to the OFF position and attach a DO-NOT-OPERATE tag.

 (e)  
Open this circuit breaker and attach a DO-NOT-CLOSE tag:
 1) E3-3 Electrical Shelf, APU Control Unit

 (f)  
Make sure the fuel pressure at the pressure gage does not
 decrease:
 1) Monitor the fuel pressure on the pressure gage for 5

 

 minutes. 2) If there is a decrease in fuel pressure, correct all leaks or damage to the APU fuel system.
 NOTE: A fuel leakage rate of 1 drop for each minute (2.5
____ cc for each hour) is permitted from the fuel control unit.
 (g)  Loosen the nut on the hose to bleed the fuel pressure.

 Remove the external electrical power from the airplane (AMM 24-22-00/201).

 (11)
 Remove the equipment from the fuel control unit:

 (a)  
Remove the pressure gage from the hose.

 (b)  
Remove the hose from the tee fitting.

 (c)  
Remove the inlet hose from the tee fitting.

 (d)  
Remove the tee fitting from the inlet port to the low-pressure fuel filter.

 (e)  
Install the elbow with a new packing to the low-pressure fuel filter.

 (f)  
Install the inlet hose to the fuel control unit.

 CAUTION: KEEP A MINIMUM CLEARANCE OF 0.18 INCHES (5 MM) BETWEEN THE
_______ ENGINE, FIRE DETECTOR, CLAMPS AND LOWER SHROUD.
 BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU MOVE THE LOWER SHROUD. DAMAGE TO THE SHROUD DRAIN LINES CAN OCCUR.
 (12) Install the lower shroud:
 (a)  
Hold the lower shroud against the upper shroud.

 (b)  
Close the shroud latches.

 (13) Close the APU cowl door:
 (a)  
Disconnect the door support rods.

 (b)  
Put the door support rods in the clips on the APU cowl door.

 (c)  
Close the APU cowl door.

 (d)  
Close the latches for the APU cowl door.

 (14) Set the circuit breaker and the switch:
 (a)  
Remove the DO-NOT-CLOSE tag and close this circuit breaker: 1) E3-3 Electrical Shelf, APU Control Unit

 (b)
