(d)
Remove 1/4 inch (6.4 mm) of the insulation from the ends of the two wires.
(e)
Connect the two wires with the NAS 1388 splice.
(f)
Wind a layer of the tape around the splice.
(g)
Connect the electrical connector to the J2 receptacle.
(h)
Remove the DO-NOT-CLOSE tag and close this circuit breaker: 1) E3-3 Electrical Shelf, APU Control Unit
(i)
Remove the DO-NOT-OPERATE tag from the APU master switch on the P5 forward overhead panel.
(j)
Start and operate the APU (AMM 49-11-00/201).
1) Let the APU EGT become stable.
2) Set the switch for the APU bleed air to ON.
(k)
Make sure the pneumatic duct system is pressurized.
(l)
Do the APU usual shutdown (AMM 49-11-00/201).
(m)
Attach a DO-NOT-OPERATE tag to the APU master switch on the P5 forward overhead panel.

(5) Do the control switch deactivation (optional procedure):
(a)
Disconnect the electrical connector from the J1 receptacle. 1) Install a cap on the electrical connector. 2) Attach the electrical connector and the wire harness to the
airplane structure.
(b)
Use the BMS 13-31 to make a jumper wire with a length of approximately 6 inches (16 cm).
(c)
Attach the new contact points to the two ends of the jumper wire.
(d)
Put the jumper wire assembly in the new electrical plug.
(e)
Connect the new plug with the jumper wire assembly to the J1 receptacle.
(f)
Remove the DO-NOT-CLOSE tag and close this circuit breaker: 1) E3-3 Electrical Shelf, APU Control Unit
(g)
Remove the DO-NOT-OPERATE tag from the APU master switch on the P5 forward overhead panel.
(h)
Start and operate the APU (AMM 49-11-00/201).
1) Let the APU EGT become stable.
2) Set the switch for the APU bleed air to ON.
(i)
Make sure the pneumatic duct system is pressurized.
(j)
Do the APU usual shutdown (AMM 49-11-00/201).

(k) Attach a DO-NOT-OPERATE tag to the APU master switch on the P5 forward overhead panel.

BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU MOVE THE LOWER SHROUD. SHROUD DRAIN LINES CAN OCCUR. DAMAGE TO THE
(6) Install the lower shroud: (a) Hold the lower shroud against the upper shroud. (b) Close the shroud latches.
(7) S 412-022Close the APU cowl door: (a) Disconnect the door support rods. (b) Put the door support rods in the clips on the APU cowl door. (c) Close the APU cowl door. (d) Close the latches for the APU cowl door.
(8) S 862-023Remove the DO-NOT-OPERATE tag from the APU master switch on the P5 forward overhead panel.

COMPRESSOR DISCHARGE PRESSURE ORIFICED T-FITTING - CLEANING/PAINTING

1. General
_______
A. This procedure contains a task to clean the compressor discharge pressure orificed T-fitting. During this procedure, the fitting is referred to as the compressor discharge T-fitting.
B. You can do this task without the removal of the compressor discharge T-fitting from the engine. This task makes sure the orifice in the fitting does not have blockage.
