Remove the APU igniter plug (AMM 49-41-51/401).

Do the visual inspection of the igniter plug:
(a)
Examine the parts of the igniter plug that are not metal for cracks and chips.
(b)
Examine the electrode and the outer shell for erosion.
1) Replace the igniter plug if the erosion is not in the limits (Fig. 601).
(c)
Examine the igniter plug barrel and the threads for corrosion and damage. 1) Replace the igniter plug if it has cracks, chips, damage,
or corrosion.

(3) Install the APU igniter plug (AMM 49-41-51/401).

1. General_______
A. This procedure contains a task to clean the APU igniter plug.
B. The igniter plug is installed in the combustion chamber cap on the APU. You must remove the igniter plug to clean it.
C. You can get access to the igniter plug through the APU cowl door.

Clean the igniter plug:
WARNING: DO NOT GET THE SOLVENT IN YOUR MOUTH OR EYES, OR ON YOUR
_______ SKIN. DO NOT BREATHE THE FUMES FROM THE SOLVENT. PUT ON A PROTECTIVE SPLASH GOGGLE AND GLOVES WHEN YOU USE THE SOLVENT. KEEP THE SOLVENT AWAY FROM SPARKS, HEAT, AND FLAME. THE SOLVENT IS POISONOUS AND FLAMMABLE AND CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
(a) Clean the igniter plug with the lintfree cloth made moist with the solvent.
