(2) Open the APU cowl door:
(a)
Open the latches for the APU cowl door.
(b)
Open the APU cowl door.
(c)
Connect the door support rods.

CAUTION:_______BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU MOVE THE LOWER SHROUD. DAMAGE TO THE SHROUD DRAIN LINES CAN OCCUR.
(3) Remove the lower shroud:
(a)
Hold the lower shroud and open the shroud latches.
(b)
Remove the lower shroud.

(4) Remove the drain line:
(a)
Disconnect the drain line from the drain union (7) on the fuel drain housing.
(b)
Disconnect the drain line from the drain reducer on the combustion chamber cap.
(c)
Remove the drain line from the APU.

(5) Remove the fuel drain housing from the turbine plenum:
(a)
Remove the drain seal (6) from the lower drain housing (5).
(b)
Remove the clamp (8) that holds the lower drain housing (5) to the upper drain housing (9).
(c)
Remove the lower drain housing (5) from the upper drain housing (9).
(d)
Remove the spring (3), screen (4), and packing (2) from the lower drain housing. 1) Discard the packing (2).

(6) Do an inspection of the upper drain housing (9):
(a) Make sure the upper drain housing (9) has no carbon material or blockage.

(7) If the upper drain housing (9) has carbon material or blockage, clean the upper drain housing (9).
(a)
Remove the upper drain housing (9) from the turbine plenum boss.
(b)
Remove the packing (1) from the upper drain housing (9). 1) Discard the packing (1).
(c)
If the upper drain housing (9) has blockage, remove the blockage with compressed air.

(d) If the upper drain housing (9) has carbon material, clean the upper drain housing with solvent and dry with compressed air.

(8) Install the upper drain housing (9) to the turbine plenum:
(a)
Apply a layer of the antiseize compound to the threads of the upper drain housing (9).
(b)
Install a new packing (1) on the upper drain housing (9).
