CAUTION:_______BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU MOVE THE LOWER SHROUD. DAMAGE TO THE SHROUD DRAIN LINES CAN OCCUR.
(3) Remove the lower shroud:
(a)
Hold the lower shroud and open the shroud latches.
(b)
Remove the lower shroud.

Remove the starter motor (AMM 49-41-11/401).

Drain the oil tank (AMM 49-91-31/301).

Remove the oil pump:
(a)
Disconnect the electrical connector from the sequencing switch for the oil pressure.
(b)
Disconnect the electrical connector from the switch for the low oil pressure.
(c)
Put the container below the oil pump.
(d)
Disconnect the inlet line for the oil cooler from the fitting on the oil pump.
(e)
Disconnect the inlet line for the oil pump from the fitting on the oil pump.
(f)
Disconnect the electrical connector from the tachometer generator.
(g)
Disconnect the electrical connector from the oil temperature switch.
(h)
Disconnect the inlet line for the scavenge pump from the oil pump.
(i)
Disconnect the gearbox inlet line from the oil manifold fitting.

Disconnect the compressor inlet line from the fitting on the oil pump.
(k)
Remove the bolts and the washers that attach the oil pump assembly to the accessory drive gearbox.
(l)
Carefully remove the oil pump assembly from the APU. 1) Examine the oil pump for damage and metal particles. 2) If the oil pump has damage or metal particles show, do the
oil pump inspection (AMM 49-91-11/601).
(m)
Remove the packings.
1) Discard the packing.
(n)
Remove the oil manifold from the oil pump: 1) Turn the oil manifold counterclockwise and remove it from the oil pump.
2) Remove the packing and the nut. a) Discard the packing.
(o)
Install the caps, covers and plugs on all the electrical connectors, disconnected lines and the ports to prevent contamination.

(1) Install the oil tank:
(a)
Remove the caps, covers and plugs from all the electrical connectors, disconnected lines and ports.
(b)
Lubricate the packing with petrolatum.
(c)
Install the oil manifold on the oil pump with the nut and the packing.
