Remove the pneumatic line filter for the cooling air shutoff valve (AMM 49-51-22/401).

Disassemble the filter assembly.
(a) Remove the packing and the filter element.

(b) Discard the packing.

(3) Clean the pneumatic line filter:
WARNING: DO NOT GET THE SOLVENT IN YOUR MOUTH, OR YOUR EYES, OR ON
_______ YOUR SKIN. DO NOT BREATHE THE FUMES FROM THE SOLVENT. PUT ON A PROTECTIVE SPLASH GOGGLE AND GLOVES WHEN YOU USE THE SOLVENT. KEEP THE SOLVENT AWAY FROM SPARKS, FLAME, AND HEAT. THE SOLVENT IS A POISONOUS AND FLAMMABLE MATERIAL WHICH CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
(a)
Put the filter element in the small container filled with the solvent. 1) Let the filter soak for a minimum of 1 hour.
(b)
Clean the inner and the outer surfaces of the filter head and the housing with the brush and the solvent.
(c)
Dry the filter head and the housing with the compressed air.
(d)
Dry the filter element with the compressed air.

(4) Assemble the filter assembly:
(a)
Install a new packing, lubricated with the petroleum jelly, on the filter head part of the filter assembly.
(b)
Put the filter element in the filter head.
(c)
Install the filter housing on the filter head.
1) Make sure the packing stays in its position when you install the filter housing on the filter head.
(d)
Install a lockwire between the filter housing and the filter head.

(5) Install the pneumatic line filter for the cooling air shutoff valve (AMM 49-51-22/401).

PNEUMATIC ACTUATOR - REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

1. General
_______
A. This procedure contains the removal and the installation tasks for the
pneumatic actuator for the cooling air shutoff valve.
B. The pneumatic actuator is on the upper shroud assembly for the APU. You
remove the actuator through an opening in the horizontal web above the
APU upper shroud.
C. You can get access to the pneumatic actuator through the access door for the horizontal stabilizer compartment. The access door is forward of the APU compartment.
