BODY HINGE TORQUE TUBE - REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

1. General_______
A. This procedure contains these tasks:
(1)
The removal of the body hinge torque tube on door 1.
(2)
The removal of the body hinge torque tube on door 5
(3)
The removal of the sprocket on door 5
(4)
The installation of the body hinge torque tube on door 1.
(5)
The installation of the body hinge torque tube on door 5
(6)
The installation of the sprocket on door 5.
B.
You must disassemble the body torque tube before you remove it from the airplane. Remove the maintenance access panel forward of the door to get access to the tube.
C.
You can remove the torque tube sprocket, if it is necessary.
(1)
DOOR 1; The sprocket is removed together with the body torque tube.
(2)
DOOR 5; You can remove the sprocket with the body torque tube installed. Use different tasks to remove or install the door 5 sprocket.

C. Procedure
S 014-002
(1)
Remove the main entry door (Ref 52-11-01/401).
S 014-041
(2)
Remove the sealant and the grease shield from the top link (Detail D).
S 024-003

Remove the body torque tube.
(a)
Disconnect the spring (31).
(b)
Remove the bolt (8).
(c)
Remove the release handles (30, 61).
(d)
Remove the bolt (41) from the telescopic sleeve (42).
(e)
Move the sleeve down on the snubber shaft (38).
(f)
Remove the bolt (37) that connects the snubber arm (38) to the structure link (36).
(g)
Remove the snubber (38), the telescopic sleeve (42), and the spacer (33) from the anchor plate (32).
(h)
Remove the bolts from the upper bearing plates (3 and 44).
(i)
Remove the bearing plates (3 and 44), the upper link (45), the shim (4), and the spacer (5).
(j)
Make a position mark of the anchor plate (32) on the structure.
(k)
Remove the anchor plate (32).
(l)
Disconnect the chain (9) from the door actuator rod (27).
1) Turn the door actuator rod (27) to disconnect the rod end (28).
(m)
Remove the bolt (21) at the lower end of the shaft assembly (24).
