Procedure

(1)
Install the hinge flap.
(a)
Install the spring on the hinge as shown in Fig. 401.
(b)
If a spring clip is available, crimp it over the spring.
(c)
Put the hinge together with the hinge pin.
(d)
On hinges with retainer pins, safety the hinge pin with the retainer pin.
(e)
Install the hinge flap and shims on the hinge.
(f)
Adjust the hinge flap to get the correct door flushness and skin clearances.
NOTE: Refer to AMM 52-11-01/501 (Door No. 1) or AMM 52-11-09/501 (Door No. 5) for the correct dimensions.
(g)
Adjust the hinge flap vertically.
