Install the Upper Hinge Arm
S 834-012
(1)
Install the upper hinge arm.
(a)
Install the upper hinge arm (13, Detail A) in the upper hinge housing (16) to install the surface of the hinge arm bearing in the upper bearing plate.
(b)
Install the lower bearing plate (20) on the upper hinge housing (16) and install the bolt.

(2)
Apply the sealant around the edge of the lower bearing plate (20) and below the heads of the bolts (17) that attach the bearing plate (Ref 51-31-01/201).
S 424-014
(3)
Install the upper hinge arm (13).
(a)
Install the bolt (23) that attaches the upper shaft (50) to the upper hinge arm (13).
NOTE: Two spaces, one between the teeth on the hinge arm, and
____ the other between the teeth on the shaft, are used to align the hinge arm in the shaft.
(b) Fill the hole above the lower bearing (18) on the upper hinge arm (13, inside hinge housing) with grease to prevent water go into the bearing.

Connect the control rod to the crank (49).
(d)
Do the steps in par. G. if you install the lower hinge arm.
(e)
If you do not install the lower hinge arm, do the steps in par. 3.G.(4) and on to complete the installation of the upper hinge arm.

Install the Lower Hinge Arm

(1)
Install the lower hinge arm (33, Detail A) in the lower hinge housing (36).
(a)
Install the surface of the hinge arm bearing in the lower bearing plate.
