Make sure the maintenance stand is installed outboard of the door opening.

Do these steps to apply grease to the upper and lower hinge bearings on the body torque tube to prevent the entry of water.
(a)
At the upper hinge arm, fill the hole on the upper side of the bearing in the lower bearing plate (Detail A).
(b)
At the lower hinge arm, fill the hole on the upper side of the bearing in the bearing plate on the upper guide plate (Detail B).

Do these steps to apply grease to the hinge bearings on the body torque tube to prevent the entry of water:
(a)
Fill the hole on the upper side of the bearing at the door adjustment nut (Detail C).

(b) Fill the hole on the upper side of the bearing in the hinge housing below the upper hinge arm.

Examine and install the new seals, if it is necessary
(AMM 52-09-02/201).

Examine and repair the seal depressor surface on the body as necessary to make sure the minimum seal leakage.

Procedure
(1) S 094-023Remove the safety barrier.
(2) S 494-024Connect the sling to the door.
(3) S 424-025Install the main entry door. (a) Turn the door upper and lower hinge arms (8, 16) to the door open position. (b) Lift the entry door near to the door opening with the hinge arms adjacent to the hinge links on the body torque tube.
CAUTION:_______ DO NOT TRY TO MOVE THE LOWER HINGE ARM UP OR DOWN ON THE TORQUE TUBE; IT IS NOT ADJUSTABLE. IF YOU TRY TO MOVE THE LOWER HINGE ARM, DAMAGE CAN OCCUR.
(c) (d) (e) Move the upper hinge arm up or down as necessary to adjust the distance between the hinge arms and the hinge link (Detail B).Connect the lower hinge arm to the hinge bellcrank link on the body torque tube.Connect the upper hinge arm to the hinge link.
(4) S 094-026Remove the hoist sling.
