Look at the top hinge mechanism. 1) Make sure the top hinge mechanism is clean. 2) Make sure there is no damage to the top hinge mechanism. 3) Make sure there are no missing fasteners.

Look at the bottom hinge mechanism. 1) Make sure the bottom hinge mechanism is clean. 2) Make sure there is no damage to the bottom hinge mechanism. 3) Make sure there are no missing fasteners.

Move the door aft to do a check of the carriage and track mechanism.
(a)
See that the hinge mechanisms operate to move the door inboard.
(b)
Feel that the door moves smoothly and freely.
(c)
See that the snubber does not allow the door to hit the structure.
(d)
See that the latch holds the door in the aft position.

(3) Release the manual latch handle.

CAUTION:_______DO NOT USE THE INTERIOR HANDLE TO MOVE THE DOOR FORWARD. THIS CAN CAUSE THE EXTERIOR HANDLES TO EXTEND WHICH WILL CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE AIRPLANE.

Move the door forward to do a check of the carriage and track mechanism.
(a)
Feel that the door moves freely and easily.
(b)
See that the snubber does not allow the door to hit the structure.

(b) Make sure the seals on the snubbers are in good condition.
(3) S 216-010Do a visual inspection of the track mechanism. (a) Make sure the track is clean and free of debris. (b) See that the there is no damage to the track supports.
(4) S 216-011Do a visual inspection of the pushrods, stop latches and pivot fittings. (a) Make sure there is no corrosion or damage. (b) Make sure there are no loose or missing fasteneres. (c) Make sure the parts are in satisfactory condition.
