 B.  Rotation of the control cam by rotation of exterior or interior handle
 will operate the door.Latching Crank and Cocking Crank Assemblies (Fig. 2)

 A.  The control cam is a circular plate with one cam track on the inboard surface and two cam tracks on the outboard surface. The track on the inboard surface of the control cam programs the motion of the latching crank. The latching crank, connected by an intermediate torque tube, translation arm, pushrod, and latch torque tube crank, rotates the latch torque tube. The latch torque tube, supported by bearings at the door ribs and frames, extends forward and aft through the latch torque tube crank to the doorframes. Latch rollers, which engage with latch cams mounted on the doorjamb, are bolted to each end of the torque tube.

 B.  The two cam tracks on the outboard surface of the control cam program the motion of the upper and lower cocking cranks. The upper cocking crank is attached, by a control rod, to the outboard lug of the upper hinge fitting. The upper hinge fitting, attached to upper pivot fitting and door support brackets, functions as a pivot to rotate the door. The lower cocking crank is attached, by a control rod, to one clevis of the lower translation arm. From the other clevis of the lower translation arm, a control rod extends to the lower inboard hinge fitting. The lower inboard hinge fitting, which functions as a pivot link, allows the outboard hinge fitting to pivot on a bearing shaft located in the door structure. The combined motion of the inboard and outboard hinge fittings rotates the door lower edge.
